You are probably viewing this page because you have recently received a letter from our office informing you that those who spent many hours working for you are now demanding their payment.
Chances are this letter or our phone call caught you by surprise. You might initially react in anger and say that "these people" have no right to demand payment. You might even think to yourself that "these people" don't even belong in the country. Trust me we have heard it before.
Instead of reacting with anger we suggest that you take the correct course of action and pay these individuals for the work they performed for you.
Here at PUEBLO we carefully screen each and every case before we decide to take it on. We meet multiple times with the workers, speak with their family members, and do further investigation to make certain that the workers are in fact owed money. Additionally, we select cases based on the commitment and sacrifice the workers are willing to make and our likelihood of securing payment. Using our many cases as learned experience, we brainstorm with the workers on the best way to go about attaining their money. We make every attempt to amicably resolve the situation, but as you can see from the photo above (and from our press releases section) we do at times have to resort to alternative strategies.
At PUEBLO we believe in working with individuals to correct injustices. We do not simply send letters and file papers, rather we are a community based organization dedicated to direct action. Please do yourself a favor and don't make yourself our next community action.
From our perspective a victory comes about in one of two manners:
1) the workers get paid
2) the company that owes the workers money goes out of business
While we prefer the former, we still regard it as a victory if employers are no longer able to commit further injustices.
